Wairakei Charitable Trust funding round closed
The Wairakei Charitable Trust projects and scholarship funding round has now closed. The Trust will consider all applications at a meeting later this month.
The next funding round will be advertised mid-year.

Wairakei Charitable Trust AGM and 2011-2012 second funding round opens.
The AGM of the Wairakei Charitable Trust will be held at Oruanui Marae on Thursday November 10th at 5pm. Oruanui Marae invites the hapu of Rauhoto Marae, Maroanui Marae, and Te Rangiita Marae to attend a Hui a Hapû for the Wairakei Charitable Trust AGM, where the Trust will report back to the hapû on project funding and scholarships for 2011 - 2012.
The hui will start at 5.00pm. Dinner will be served following the hui.
The second funding round for 2011 - 2012 has now opened, and applications for environmental or cultural mitigation or marae facility projects and annual scholarships need to be in by January 31st 2012.
Application forms for both project funding and scholarships are available through the website or the secretary. Assistance with filling in the forms can be given by contacting the secretary.
This is the annual round for scholarships. The trust has two scholarships where preference will be given to those applicants studying in the environmental and sciences fields of study. The trust has allocated further funding for those students who are undertaking tertiary studies that could be beneficial to the hapu.

The Wairakei Charitable Trust has announced that the 2011 – 2012 funding round is open for mitigation or marae facility projects. Applications need to be in by July 30th 2011.
Application forms for project funding are available here or through the secretary. Assistance with filling in the forms can be given by contacting the secretary.
This is the first funding round for projects. A second funding round, which includes scholarship applications will open on November 1st 2011 and will close on January 30th 2012. Application forms for this round will be uploaded later in the year.

More than $20,000 allocated by the Wairakei Charitable Trust in latest scholarship and project funding round.
The Wairakei Charitable Trust has announced that $20,045 was allocated to two projects and eight scholarship recipients in the recent funding round.
The trust received eight applications for project funding totalling $86,365.45 and two projects were approved. The Trust also received 12 applications for scholarships of which eight were approved for scholarships ranging from $500 to $2500.
The Trust consider applications for project funding twice a year in February and August. There is only one round for scholarships and applications open in November for scholarships which are allocated at the February Trust meeting.
This year the trust awarded more scholarships, with one scholarship targeting applicants studying in the environmental and sciences fields of study, while the others went to those studying a wider range of subjects that will ultimately benefit hapu.

More than $140,000 allocated by the Wairakei Charitable Trust in latest funding round.
The Wairakei Charitable Trust has announced that $144,300 was allocated to six projects in the first of two 2010 - 2011 funding rounds recently.
The trust received eight applications for funding totalling $417,599 and six projects were approved.
The funding round was the first of two this year projects. The second funding round, which includes schoalrship applications will open on November 20th 2010 and will close on January 28th 2011.
This year the trust will be awarding more scholarships, with some scholarships targeting applicants studying in the environmental and sciences fields of study and others for those studying a wider range of subjects that will benefit hapu.

5 March 2009 : The Wairakei Charitable Trust today approved a further $11,500 of project funding and five $1000 educational scholarships.
The Trust approved funding for Te Wananga o Ngāti Rauhoto Ta Moko, a one off wananga based at Rauhoto Marae run by Geoff Rameka. The three day wananga will demonstrate the art of Ta Moko. It will look at the history, and origins of Ta Moko and the significance to Ngati Rauhoto.
The Trust also approved some additional funds for phase one of the Punawhakaata ki Oruanui Charitable Trust 'Economic Development Project'. Click here to read more.
The Trust also granted five $1000 scholarships to students of nga hapu descent.
Applications for the 2009 - 2010 project funding round will be accepted after June 1st 2009. This funding round will close on August 30th 2009.

11 February 2009: The Wairakei Charitable Trust received six applications for project funding from the 2008-2009 funding round.
Two applications for funding were approved to a total of $12771.09.
The Maroanui Marae kitchen renovation and hot water system installation received funding and that project was completed over the holiday break. Funding was also approved for a weekend Whakapapa Wananga at the Paakira Marae, Waitahanui.
Applications for the 2008-2009 scholarships close on February 28th 2009. Application forms are available from the website or by emailing the secretary robyn.orchard@contactenergy.co.nz or by calling 0800 000458.
