Maroanui Marae Toilet Block project

Maroanui Marae recently blessed and opened their new ablutions block. The new building has men's, women's and disabled toilets and showers along with a laundry tub in the women's area.

The building of the ablutions block and fitting it out was carried out by a local builder Shaun Boyce who has undertaken all of the projects around the marae so far.

A large group of whanau from throughout the North Island spent a weekend adding the finishing touches to the building such as the painting and landscaping.

The weekend culminated with a blessing and opening of the ablutions block. A native fern was planted in front of the building to commemorate the milestone.

Clear the sacred pathway,

And let those who care for the hinterland, be as one with those who reside by the seaside. Let those who care for the seaside, be of one thought with those of the hinterland, only then will the care of the environment be secured forever.
